Design Gallery - Profile 03
Client Brief: To the best of our recollection, noting that we are a similar age to Brian, our design brief was fairly simple. We had an odd-shaped sloping block. We wanted a three bedroom ensuite home with a study that flowed down the block - we didn't want steps down from the house to the ground and we certainly didn't want a big cut and fill with the ineveitable retaining walls. We wanted the living areas to be open plan. Finally, the main bedroom to be at the back of the house separated from the other bedrooms.
Brian's initial response to the above was that we should make it four bedrooms rather than three bedroom/study based on the small additional cost and greater resale value. The initial concept drawings we viewed met all of those criteria.

Final Product: Different textures & materials were high on the design wish list for the owners. The desired effect was accomplished with the use of many composite material used on the façade & the bold use of colours making it quite individual in this seaside estate. This innovative design is split level with open plan living. The Kitchen is galley style with stone bench tops and a walk in pantry.
It is a creatively designed contemporary home which beautifully captures the relaxed beachside atmosphere.
